He was found, the morning after she was left behind, sleeping in someone's truck he broke into. He and his family didn't call the police for hours, saying they were looking for Allyson on their own. Ben was allegedly on harsher substances, but I haven't heard clarifications of what it may be. It may play a role, but it's possible the night went down without drug use. It's not hard to end up with a dead person when you've got a young hot head with aggression issues (he's had altercations in the past), a naïve young girlfriend, a cold night and being out alone in the brambles. I don't think speculation is needed, though. Something horrible happened regardless and potentially being high doesn't negate that. I'm just not big on rampant speculation in general, though. Especially when her friends and family may come across the things being said. Allyson was a local and her death impacts many people in the area, we're on a local subreddit, so I think it's worth it to be careful.
